Powerboat racing has a tradition as old as motorcycle or car racing. In 1908, it was even held at the Summer Olympics. It is raced on the open sea or on closed areas and rivers. The UIM (Unie Internationale Motonautique) was founded in 1922. It is the world governing body for all Powerboating activities. It is fully recognized by the International Olympic Committee (IOC) and it is a member of the Association of the IOC Recognized International Sports Federations (ARISF).
BRISK spark plugs have been associated with this sport for many years. They have already shown in the past that they are a valuable component of a racing machine and that they are valid tools in achieving victory at every level of motorsport.
This year, racing machines were also powered with BRISK spark plugs, right up to the FR1000 class. From the designation of the Formula 1000 category, it can be inferred that the gasoline engines have a displacement of 1000 cc. The rider sits in a safety cockpit and the machines reach a maximum speed of 160 kph.
This season, Latvian racer Anikejevs Jevgenijs is relying on BRISK spark plugs not only at the European Championship. Jevgenijs managed to win the gold medal and thus became the UIM European Champion in the FR1000 class.
