BRISK reaching for the triumph in MotoGP™?
6. 6. 2024At the beginning of this year, BRISK officially entered the MotoGP™ field. And since BRISK products have their place among the best, we spare no effort in motorsport either. In addition, several triumphs in the motocross and enduro world championships have proven to us that not being modest in goals is one of the strategies that creates winners. We therefore enter the Grand Prix Motorcycle Racing with humility, but at the same time with expectations and great determination.
The season started off great for BRISK in Qatar! Brad Binder placed second with his KTM twice, both in the sprint and in the main event. Unfortunately, Jack Miler crashed in the second lap, finishing the race in unscored place. However, all eyes were on a rising star Pedro Acosta. The GASGAS Tech 3 rider, who moved up from Moto2, is set to become the sensation of this year’s World Championship. Already from the qualifying training sessions, he showed that he will be among the elite. The rookie who started from the third row was able to overtake such stars as Espargara, Di Giannantonia, Marquez or Bastianini during the race. He dared to fight with Martin for third place. Unfortunately, he had to settle for 9th place in the end due to a drop in rear tire pressure.
On the circuit in Portugal (Autódromo Internacional do Algarve), Pedro Acosta didn’t let success be taken away from him. He finished in third place at the finish, and could thus celebrate his first MotoGP podium. Right behind Acosta were KTM Factory Racing’s Brad Binder and Jack Miller. In addition, Brad Binder maintained second place overall in the championship.
The third event of MotoGP was hosted by the city of Austin in Texas (Circuit of the Americas). Pedro Acosta showed again with his GASGAS that he is not mistaken in the elite class. He took the first row in qualifying, had a rocket start to the race and led the entire starting field for the first six laps. In the end, he finished in a great second place and left behind both the champion and the vice-champion. With his incredible performance, Acosta not only secured second place on the podium. He took care of the world record at the same time! At the age of 19, he became the youngest motorcycle racer in history to achieve two podium finishes in a row. For BRISK, this balance in practice means that machines equipped with Czech spark plugs have been placed on the winners‘ boxes in the three races so far.
Autodromo Internazionale del Mugello, Italy. The riders have an official MotoGP test ahead of them, and for KTM and GASGAS equipped with BRISK spark plugs, a sensation is about to happen. The KTM Factory Racing team rider Brad Binder from South Africa gave the best performance, and with a loss of only 0.033 seconds, the Spanish rookie Pedro Acosta representing the Red Bull GASGAS Tech3 team became the second most successful rider. The fourth place also belongs to KTM Factory Racing rider – Australian Jack Miller. Fantastic performances, dream numbers!
Does the traditional spark plug manufacturer reach for the triumph in its first MotoGP™? The answer to this question may be given by the Dutch TT Circuit Assen, where the next part of this year’s Road Motorcycle World Championship is held.
